Friend,

In the United States today, 33 states have legalized marijuana in some form. Yet absurdly, at the federal level marijuana is treated as a Schedule I substance on par with heroin. One of the biggest cheerleaders of our backward federal marijuana policy is Georgia’s own senator, David Perdue.

If you agree it’s time for us to remove marijuana from the Controlled Substances Act schedule, make a $4.20 donation right now.

Not only is Perdue opposed to ending marijuana prohibition at the federal level, he’s also against:

  • Access to banking for marijuana businesses;
  • Allowing VA doctors to recommend medical marijuana;
  • Allowing states to legalize recreational marijuana.
Perdue is just not in step with what Georgians want: 77 percent support medical uses for marijuana, and 50 percent support recreational marijuana use – and that support grows every day as people learn more about the healthcare and economic benefits of bringing marijuana off the black market.

Teresa will fight not only to decriminalize, legalize, and regulate marijuana, she will also fight to expunge and commute sentences to address decades of racial disparities in our criminal justice system.

With legalization, it’s our responsibility to ensure that the communities that have suffered the most under federal policy – black and brown people – aren’t left behind. That’s why Teresa will help facilitate startup capital sources and other funding needed to ensure black and brown communities can participate in this new economic sector.

Will you chip in $4.20 today? Teresa doesn’t accept corporate PAC money, so your donation is what gives us the resources to advertise, hire new staff, and talk to voters about legalization and many more issues. Please make a donation today.

Your contributions make it possible for Teresa to lead the way for criminal justice reform in our communities. Thank you.
