We made a list. We checked it twice. We found out who was naughty and nice. Guess who it guess? Watch our video to find out!

Our motto at Brady is "take action, not sides." For decades now, we've been working across the aisle and uniting gun owners and non-gun owners alike to find common ground in common-sense solutions to gun violence.
After you've watched our video, please take a moment to share your holiday wish for an America free of gun violence! We'll collect it for a special project with Santa.

VICTORY: We're Ending 2019 with a Historic Win From Congress!
This week, Congress gave us a huge win that will help save lives. For the first time in more than 20 years, Congress will fund research on gun violence prevention.
Why Do We Need This Research?
It's not to "prove" that there is a problem, but rather to help identify urgently needed policy and community-based solutions. Research informs policy, and we need solutions that are evidence-based so we can save as many lives as possible. To put things in perspective, gun violence is the second leading cause of death for young people in America, killing 40,000 people each year. Yet it receives far less funding than any other leading cause of death in America. (It all comes down to the fact that the gun lobby has been effective in ensuring that gun violence isn't addressed as a public health crisis.)
Just like research has informed product safety and policy solutions around things like car seats and seat belts, how to prevent kids from smoking tobacco, and how to reduce drunk driving, we need to be able to identify solutions around public health and safety issues like suicide by firearm, the link between domestic violence and gun violence, safe gun storage, and more.
Now that you understand a little more about just what a big deal this research funding is, we need your help! We need to let Congress know we're celebrating this win — and that we need more bipartisan action to keep saving lives! Will you add your name to help us thank Congress for this bold commitment to ending gun violence?
We need to encourage Congress to continue taking action, not sides. We've been all-out fighting for Congress to address our country's gun violence epidemic. It's working!

On Thursday, Presidential hopefuls and the hosts of 2020 Democratic debate had an opportunity to address an issue on the minds of all voters: gun violence. Yet, for the second debate in a row, not a single question was raised about gun violence prevention. Once is a blip, but twice is a pattern. This is unacceptable. A public health epidemic that kills 100 people every single day must be addressed by all Presidential candidates.
The next Democratic debate will be held on January 14 by CNN, and we need to make sure gun violence prevention is addressed. Lives are on the line. We can’t wait any longer.

We're Continuing to Organize for Gun Safety in Virginia
Yes, we made history last month when we flipped Virginia to a gun safety majority. But our work isn't done! We're continuing to work with community members and newly elected state legislators to champion common-sense gun reform. On Monday, January 20, Brady is joining partners in hosting the 28th Annual Vigil and Day of Action for gun safety in Virginia. We’re gathering at the Richmond capitol to honor Martin Luther King Jr. and Virginians killed by gun violence. Sign up to join us on January 20 for the MLK Vigil and Day of Action!
This week, Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro took bold action against “ghost guns.” These types of guns are often home-made without serial numbers, which prevent police from tracking their origin at crimes scenes. This move by AG Shapiro will close a dangerous loophole that has allowed dangerous hands access to "ghost guns" for far too long. We need more leadership like this! Learn more about “ghost guns.”
🎧 Giving Gun Owners a Seat at the Table
How do we get more gun owners involved in the fight against gun violence? What can the gun violence prevention community do differently? We walk with Mark House, a New York city public school principal and father. Listen now. For the first time in more than 20 years, our leading public health organizations will research gun violence. This historic accomplishment took historic leadership. Being able to research the public health epidemic that is gun violence wouldn’t have been possible if it weren’t for —
Speaker Nancy Pelosi
Sen. Chuck Schumer
Rep. Nita Lowey
Rep. David Price
Rep. Rosa DeLauro
Sen. Patrick Leahy
Rep. Patty Murray
We’ve been fighting for months to fund gun violence research, and with just days left in the year, we're one step closer to ending gun violence in America. Send a tweet thanking these gun violence prevention champions for their historic leadership!
Brady, March for Our Lives, and a coalition of gun violence prevention groups have been advocating for months that #WeNeedToKnow the impacts of gun violence for months. We even won a prestigious Shorty Award for our efforts. Learn more! Some Big Health Care Policy Changes Are Hiding In The Federal Spending Package, NPR
