What: RALLY for the ERA

On September 28th oral arguments will be held at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit where the Illinois (the 37 th state to ratify the ERA) Attorney General Kwame Raoul will argue that the ratification of 38 states should be recognized and the National Archivist should publish the ERA as the 28th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. He will argue that all requirements of Article V of the Constitution have been met. Publishing the Amendment in the Federal Register is a ministerial duty of the National Archivist.

We will be outside of the Appeals Court showing our support for the ERA. We need the ERA more than ever before. Access to abortion is being banned in numerous states. What’s next? The ERA will stop nationwide the denial of rights on account of sex. It is long overdue. Equality of rights must be guaranteed in the highest law of the nation.
