A two-part congressional hearing this week examined JUUL’s role in the youth nicotine epidemic as well as the company’s marketing, health claims and relationship to Big Tobacco. The company’s testimony, as well as the information provided in their subpoenaed documents, provides a wealth of new facts for Truth Initiative® to use to inform young people that JUUL is using the similar long-term tactics of the tobacco industry to recruit a new generation who may become addicted to nicotine.

Carmel, Indiana — The City Council passed an ordinance to include e-cigarettes in its smoke-free law with exemptions for three bars, a night club and a retail tobacco store, which were grandfathered in when the original smoke-free law was passed.

Ohio — Gov. DeWine signed a two-year state budget into law which includes a Tobacco 21 policy and a tax of 10 cents per milliliter on vaping liquid containing nicotine.
