Plastic Pollution Coalition continues to lead at the forefront of a powerful systems shift in consumer behavior, and corporate and policy change.

Highlights from this year:

• Celebrated 10 years this October, since our very first Coalition gathering with 10 member organizations. More than 13,000 individuals have now joined our Coalition, including more than 150 Notable Members including artists, musicians, surfers, chefs, actors, and activists.
  
  
• Connected more than 1,200 Coalition member businesses and organizations, from 75 countries on 6 continents.
  
  
• Expanded the next phase of our Global Plastic Reduction Legislative Advocacy Toolkit.
  
  
• Released the music video for PPC Notable Keb’ Mo’s new song ‘Don’t Throw It Away’.
  
  
• Contributed to national and international work to eliminate plastic pollution through partnerships in the Break Free From Plastic movement and UN Environment Program.
  
  
• Completed the Spanish Campus Plastic Reduction Guide with Coalition Member P.L.A.N.
  
  
• Associate Produced the groundbreaking ‘Story of Plastic’ documentary film with Coalition Member The Story of Stuff, which has reached thousands of people in major film festival screenings and will be released in 2020.
  
  
• Shared our petition and campaign targeting Amazon.com which has already garnered 5,000 signatures and has been featured in national press.

At the same time, our work is not done…

In fact, a massive petrochemical buildout (plastic production expansion) poses tremendous challenges with the development of new facilities to produce even more single-use plastics. To stem this tide, we need your continued support. Your donation will be matched up to $50,000 with a match from a generous donor till December 31.

• Local U.S. Organizing Training with Coalition Members Oceana and Student PIRGS.
  
  
• Building out the Amazon.com Corporate Campaign to reduce plastic packaging.
  
  
• Expanding the Global Plastic Reduction Legislative Toolkit resources.
  
  
• Supporting Coalition Members’ participation in the eXXpedition, a pioneering all-female sailing voyage and scientific research mission circumnavigating the globe, including our very own Jackie Nuñez, Program Manager of The Last Plastic Straw.
  
  
• Organizing TEDxGreatPacificGarbagePatch 2020, an international speaker symposium advancing solutions to plastic pollution in November 2020.

Thanks to your partnership, we are finding solutions and alternatives to single-use plastic and stopping plastic pollution in our local communities. By addressing single-use plastic pollution and reducing our global plastic footprint, we are contributing to climate solutions.
