I really hate bothering folks on their weekend, but this is urgent.

I just huddled up with the finance team, and they told me we’re not on track to meet our end-of-quarter goal. That’s a real problem for us, because this is our last end-of-quarter deadline before the Election, and if we come up short, we may have to scale back our campaign budget during the final, critical weeks.

So I decided to shoot off a quick note and be super honest about where we’re at with our fundraising: If we don’t close this budget gap, we may be forced to pull our television ads off the air in the last week before Election Day.

That’s a nightmare scenario. Television ads are one of the best ways to reach as many voters as possible, and they’re a critical part of our election strategy to spread Aaron’s message to voters. If we have to scale back, we’ll be opening the door for the Republicans to step in and build up their momentum in the home stretch.
