It’s hard to believe we’re just 44 days from Election Day. But here in
California, it’s not just about November 8th. Ballots will be mailed in
less than three weeks, and voters here will soon be filling them out.
Today, I’m writing to give you an update on my work in Congress and the
upcoming election.

In Congress
Last week, my bill to make it easier for state and local governments to
send trained mental health professionals to people experiencing a mental
health crisis passed the House. Earlier this summer, we passed the
Inflation Reduction Act, a historic bill that will make investments in
clean energy, lower prescription drug prices, and fight inflation. 

For Democrats across the country
Midterm years tend to be challenging for the sitting president’s party,
but polling tells us that if we work hard in these final weeks we can buck
the trends and hold the House. There is so much on the line—including the
right to an abortion—we must keep Republicans from taking away our rights.

Here in CA-47
We’re running a robust ad campaign and knocking doors to reach voters.
This is my toughest race yet, and Republicans have already spent millions
more attacking me this year than they did in all of 2020. With a district
evenly divided between Democrats and Republicans, every vote is going to
make a difference. 

Fundraising
Because I don’t take corporate PAC or lobbyist money, donations from
people like you through emails like this are the only way I’m able to run
my campaign. We have a federal fundraising deadline coming up on 9/30.
It’s our final one of the race, and your contribution will help us make
final investments in advertisements and can help deter dark money groups
