I wish I had better news, John.

A judge in Arizona just reinstated a law passed over 150 years ago, before Arizona was even a state. The law bans abortions in nearly all cases, including rape and incest. Under this law, providers would be jailed for performing abortions.

Arizona is my home. It is my daughters' home, my granddaughter's home.

And today, they have fewer rights than my mother did.

I know times like these are scary, and I know you've dealt with more than your fair share over the past few years. But we are not powerless. And we cannot give up.

Not today. Not when we're just weeks from an election that will determine control of the U.S. Senate. Not while extremist candidates across the country — including my opponent — are publicly, shamelessly calling for national abortion bans and jailing doctors.
