5782 has been a year of challenge and compassion.
Last year, Melanie and I welcomed our son into the world, and continue to cherish the ups and downs of parenthood. I was honored to be chosen as the 2022 Democratic nominee for District 26, allowing me to continue fighting for our community in Albany next year. And together, we passed a slate of landmark bills that have been years in the making.
While we had sweet moments, this year deeply challenged our faith in the political process. From a slew of heartbreaking mass shootings to the devastating rollback of reproductive rights nationwide, this year reminded us how tenuous progress is — and how important it is to push for change early and often.
Rosh Hashanah itself is a reminder to reflect on where we fell short, and commit to making changes in the coming year. Personally, I am re-committing to doing everything in my power to make our state as safe, equitable, and vibrant as possible. I invite you all to take this day as a moment of reflection on how we can individually, and communally, make our corner of the world a better place.
To a sweet new year!
Sincerely,
