Happy weekend, friends!

Have a great week ahead!

A PERSONAL NOTE

We've had a week of delicious, almost-autumn weather in North Carolina
and it's been delightful. Fall has me inspired to do all sorts of
things. Recognizing the change of seasons recharges me and I always tap
into nature and my home.

Some of this may sound silly but here are some of the ways I channeled a
little bit of autumn. I changed the wreath on my door from a bright,
flowered summer one to a darker one with colorful leaves. I harvested
the rest of my herbs and cleaned my patio. I put out some potted mums, a
sure sign of fall according to my girls. I have some more herbs planted
that are supposed to grow well in the cooler weather for, hopefully,
another harvest. My jalapeno plant is still producing like crazy so I
left it out there.

Indoors, I used my favorite cleaning spray I can only get once a year:
Mrs. Meyers Apple Cider. I scrubbed everything down and organized my
craft projects. Yarn, embroidery floss, and other odds and ends are all
set for gift-making. I hung my harvested herbs to dry and started a
batch of herbal cough syrup. (I'll have instructions for it on the
website this week.)

I'll be pulling the warm curtains and blankets out of storage and
washing them to be put out to make the place cozy. Sure, it'll probably
be hot again in a few days, but for now, I'm in full-on
pumpkin-spice-and-apple-cinnamon mode!

During stressful times, making our home a haven is essential. It gives
us some respite from a harsh world, a place to relax, recharge, and be
happy.

Speaking of recharging and winding down - yesterday I made the coolest
product. I made a printable prepper coloring book for adults. It was
such an enjoyable project that you can bet I'll be making more if people
like it. It'll be part of the SuperSale today so watch for your email so
you can get your hands on it at a bargain price. I remember a few years
back my friend Gaye Levy wrote about adult coloring on her website,
Backdoor Survival. (It's no longer owned by Gaye.) She was right - it's
a great way to relax and clear your head. Especially if you're like me -
you want to be artsy but you just can't draw worth beans.

I hope you have a wonderful week and enjoy some autumn weather and
traditions soon!
