My name is Gary Chambers, and I’m running for the U.S. Senate in Louisiana. I began this year by launching my campaign to advocate for working people in Louisiana and fight for you in the halls of Congress.

I come from a state that ranks in the bottom five for almost everything: 46th in healthcare, 47th in infrastructure and the economy, 48th in education and opportunity, 49th in the environment, and 50th in crime. Louisiana is long overdue for a new vision and stronger leadership. That’s why I’m running for Senate. Now, the real work begins.

When I take inventory of who we are as a people here in Louisiana, I recognize there are more of us working long hours in underpaid jobs, sacrificing time away from our families. There are more of us struggling to make ends meet, traveling on crumbling roads and bridges in big cities and small towns in street traffic. Meanwhile, foot traffic to our small businesses dwindles. We can only win Senate control if we all work together. Thanks for sticking with me through thick and thin.

There are too many of us having to choose between buying our medicines and paying our utility bill. Too many of us who face insurmountable student loan debts. Too many of us are dying from the pollution of chemical plants in our communities.

I grew up with a school teacher and a janitor, who taught me the power of family and community in a working-class family. I built a work ethic that taught me that no matter what we were up against, we could face it together. That’s how I know we are more than the obstacles ahead of us.
