I am a hard target for a GOP attack ad. I was born and raised in rural northwest Iowa, and I served our country for nearly 4 decades in the U.S. Navy. From enlisting on scholarship in college to retiring as a three-star Admiral, none of that matters because the GOP’s Super PACs are drumming up misleading ads and even attacking my service.

Mitch McConnell and his billionaire buddies are spending millions to spin lying tales about me on TVs all across Iowa.

There’s one reason: Mitch McConnell is alarmed because I’m the guy who can defeat Chuck Grassley and turn Iowa blue. I’m it. And if I do win, Democrats are guaranteed to hold onto our Democratic majority in the Senate.

Iowa was one of the closest Senate races in 2020, and polling from the Des Moines Register shows a paltry percentage of Iowa voters want to reelect Grassley.

I’m happy for the fight, but I’m not taking money from corporate PACs. Instead, I’m counting on grassroots donors like you to give now if we’re going to win and turn Iowa blue. We’re just days away from our final end-of-quarter FEC fundraising deadline, and right now we’re still very short of our goal. So I have to ask:
