Dear MoveOn member,

On Wednesday, New York Attorney General Letitia James announced a lawsuit
against Donald Trump and his children for an "astounding" scheme to
defraud banks and insurance companies in New York to the tune of $250
million.^1

This announcement brings the total number of active legal probes currently
looking into Trump to four. And yet, even with lawsuits piling up, Trump
is still planning to run for president.

And the most disturbing part: He would almost certainly win the Republican
nomination if he did.

Since the FBI executed a legally obtained search warrant on Trump's
Mar-a-Lago beach house to recover troves of stolen classified documents,
GOP elected officials and the radical MAGA base have rallied around Trump,
increasing his approval ratings and helping bring him a windfall of
donations.

And if his hand-picked cronies win their races for secretary of state and
governor and manage to flip control of Congress in just 45 days, they will
be able install him back into the White House in 2024, no matter the real
outcome of the election.

This is the final stretch, John, and we need your help right
now. Will you start an emergency weekly donation of $3 right now to power
our midterm election work through Election Day? (MoveOn will bill your
weekly donation to your credit card once a month starting today and will
contact you shortly after the election to see if you want to modify or
cancel your weekly donation.)

Besides the case brought by Attorney General Letitia James, Trump is also
likely involved in an ongoing case in Georgia about his efforts to tamper
with the 2020 election results in the state and his request that the
Georgia secretary of state "find 11,780 votes" for him.

The Justice Department is also in the middle of an investigation into the
January 6 insurrection and other attempts by Trump and his followers to
overturn the results of the 2020 election.

And, of course, the investigation into Trump's possible violation of both
the Presidential Records Act and the Espionage Act due to his stealing
hundreds of classified documents from the White House is also continuing
to move forward.

Finally, after so many years of blatant crime and corruption, it appears
that we are finally getting closer to Trump's being held accountable for
his actions—but be assured, if Republicans are able to take the reins of
power in 45 days, they will do everything they can to grind these
investigations to a halt to protect Trump and their party from ever facing
any consequences.

That's where we come in, John.

Together, we can stop that nightmare scenario from happening, which is why
MoveOn made the unprecedented decision earlier this year to invest $30
million—the most in our history—to help Democrats beat back MAGA
extremists in this year's midterm elections.

We are using innovative new technologies plus the effective tactics we
refined in 2020 to identify and reach out to 6.6 million voters who cast a
ballot for the first time in 2018 or 2020. The Black voters, brown voters,
Indigenous voters, young voters, poor and marginalized voters who
delivered the blue wave and defeated Donald Trump. Those are the voters
who will ensure we win in November, and MoveOn's efforts are laser-focused
on turning them out again.

It's crunch time, and we need all the help we can get to make it across
the finish line. Please, if you are able, chip in $3 a week through
Election Day to power us to victory. (MoveOn will bill your weekly
donation to your credit card once a month starting today and will contact
you shortly after the election to see if you want to modify or cancel your
weekly donation.)

Want to support MoveOn's work? Donald Trump and his allies are
methodically enacting a plan to place some of Trump's most ardent
supporters in key election offices that oversee vote counting, have the
power to certify—or decertify—election results, and declare election
winners and losers. We've launched a powerful, multimillion-dollar
campaign to stop Trump. But we need your help to power our effort.

Will you chip in $3 a week to power our work to stop Trump's coup?
