"He who oppresses the poor shows contempt for their Maker, but whoever is kind to the needy honors God."
- Proverbs 14:31
Africa
- Praise God for the arrest of a man in Uganda who violently abused his partner of more than ten years. Pray for the survivor, for her healing from the physical injury and the emotional suffering she has endured. Praise God for the community that has rallied to support her as she seeks justice in the courts.
Latin America
- Pray for all open cases in the Dominican Republic, where our team is diligently taking these cases to court to represent child survivors of sex trafficking and commercial sexual exploitation. Specially, pray for those cases that are in the last stages of trial. The process to secure justice can be long and drawn out, so pray that these cases reach just conclusions, that the criminals are held accountable for the crimes committed and that survivors are vindicated and placed on the path to a full restoration.
South Asia
- Please pray for our teams as they begin to investigate modern slavery in corporate supply chains across our project area. We suspect that many of the businesses we use every day — from clothing to food to electronics — may have slaves working at the lowest levels of their supply chains, and we want to help businesses clean up these chains for good. Pray for wisdom for our teams investigating new types of industries and cases, and for strong momentum with our government partners to protect people being abused today.
Southeast Asia
- Please pray for aftercare placement for sibling groups. An ongoing challenge for our IJM Philippines team is finding available foster care placements for young survivors and sibling survivors who have been rescued from cybersex trafficking. Pray for the government social services and local NGO partners as they recruit foster families to meet this need. And pray for the full restoration of each and every survivor.

- Praise God for the thousands of vulnerable children, women and men who are free this Christmas. Thank God for the opportunity to partner with government officials to bring these survivors of slavery and other violence to safety. Pray for these survivors as they receive aftercare from IJM teams and our partners, asking God to draw near to them on their journey towards restoration. And please pray for our staff around the world to experience true rest this Christmas — that they lay down the burdens of their work in full trust that God is still moving to rescue every person in slavery and bring every survivor to full restoration.
