As of today, we have just one month to register folks to vote for the midterm election in Pennsylvania. The New Pennsylvania Project’s primary purpose is voter registration, so we’re all hands on deck to register as many voters in the communities we center as possible.

In a battleground state like Pennsylvania, where our democracy is at stake in every level of government, and redistricting has actually made the state legislature competitive for the first time in decades, every new voter we register will be crucial to the November 8th final outcome.

Vote suppression tactics designed to make it harder for the youth, immigrant communities, and communities of color to make their voices heard continue to be a challenge we must overcome. Pennsylvanians have a lot to say, but the GOP-led legislature has worked for decades to silence their voices. That’s why our work is so important — and why we truly believe every door, every voter, and every dollar counts.

The New Pennsylvania Project was founded in May 2021 to expand Pennsylvania’s electorate, so it reflects the Commonwealth’s demographically changing population. In the next four years, NPP will engage and empower young residents and those living in under-represented communities of color and immigrant communities. We will register them to vote, provide education about the issues that matter in their neighborhoods, and mobilize people to vote in every election.
