John – We looked at the calendar today and had a real wake-up call. Election Day is only 45 days away, and there’s even less time before the first ballots are cast by absentee and Early Voting.
We have an unprecedented opportunity to grow progressive power in Congress this year. Six Brand New Congress representatives are up for re-election, and we have EIGHT more on the ballot to join them next year.
Our candidates are running to flip red seats, fill open seats, and replace corporate, career politicians to fight for working people. And we can send them all to Congress if we have the resources needed to support them.
About 10 days ago we reached out to you with news of a critical fundraising shortfall. The good news is that the trend HAS started to turn around. Thanks to so many of you who generously contributed, we’ve now closed the gap on our fundraising for September to just $8,729 (about half what it was).

There is no way to overstate the importance of this election: The work we do in the next 45 days has the potential to shape climate action, healthcare policy, criminal justice reform, labor rights, abortion rights, and voting rights for a generation.
If Republicans regain control of either the House or Senate, every progressive priority will be set back for decades.
But if Brand New Congress can help flip Republican seats and fill open seats with bold, progressive fighters, we can make some REAL change in Congress.
We know you get a lot of emails from different organizations and campaigns, and some of them are really obnoxious. We get those panic-stricken, “sky is falling” messages, too – and we don’t like them any more than you do.
