Hi John,

When I first announced my campaign for Congress, I took a pledge to not accept any corporate PAC money. When we won in 2018, we sent a message to Wall Street and big corporations that the Second District doesn’t belong to them – it belongs to Mainers.

I’m running for re-election with that same pledge, because that’s how politics should be done. But it also means I rely on folks like you to help us reach our fundraising targets, and we have our biggest one yet coming up at the end of the month. If you’re able, I hope you’ll consider chipping in a few dollars to our people-powered campaign today.

Too many politicians talk about getting big money out of politics, but they don’t follow through. I took the no corporate PAC pledge because the people of Maine’s Second District deserve to know that when powerful special interests come knocking, your representative has your back.

Over the past four years, while the big banks and corporate lobbyists have spent billions to rig the game in their favor, I’ve been fighting for the Mainers who work hard just to keep up with the bills – our small business owners, firefighters, teachers, loggers, nurses, shipbuilders, and lobstermen.

My campaign relies on folks like you chipping in $5 or $25 whenever they can to power us forward. Can I count on you to chip in today to our grassroots movement?

The job ahead of us is large, and the opposition from the powerful special interests will be fierce. But I stand by the promise I made you on day one that if we stand together, nothing and no one can hold us back.

Respectfully,

Jared Golden
