Our Republican opponent blatantly violated New Mexico campaign finance laws. We must send a strong message that they aren’t qualified to become Secretary of State.
Is it too much to ask that the person running to enforce campaign finance laws…actually follows said campaign finance laws?
Anyone running for office should know that New Mexico prohibits the use of raffles to raise funds for an individual running for office. It's equally ironic and troubling that she demonstrates a lack of understanding for existing state laws.
But Maggie's opponent recently put out a GUN “giveaway” on her campaign Facebook, offering the chance to receive a firearm in return for $100 donations to her campaign.
New Mexico’s Secretary of State is expected to regulate elections, enforce campaign finance laws, and oversee ethics provisions. If she can’t follow the law herself, how can we trust her to hold others accountable?
The election is just 45 days away and the contrast could not be clearer. Maggie has crafted stronger campaign finance rules and made our elections more transparent. In contrast, her election-denying opponent breaks campaign finance laws. We must push to keep Maggie in office to ensure the safety of all votes.
Forward,
