Commitment to America

Three out of every four Americans think our country is on the wrong track after nearly two years of one-party control in Washington. House Republicans stand ready to take our country in a different direction.

This week, House Republicans unveiled our Commitment to America, which represents a new direction and better approach that will get our nation back on track.

The Republican Commitment to America includes:

 ✓ An economy that's strong

✓ A nation that's safe

✓ A future that's built on freedom

✓ A government that's accountable

Honoring Norco’s Hero

I am happy to share that the U.S. Senate passed my legislation, H.R. 5809, to name the Norco Post Office in honor of Lance Corporal Kareem Nikoui. Lance Corporal Nikoui has been gone for more than a year now, but we still remember, we still grieve, and we still celebrate the incredible impact he made. With the Norco Post Office named in his honor, we will forever pay tribute to a true Norco hero. I appreciate my colleagues on both sides of the aisle, in both the House and Senate, supporting my legislation and look forward to it becoming law in the coming days.

Keeping Our Communities Safe

This week, the House of Representatives approved legislation I cosponsored, H.R. 6448, the Invest to Protect Act which authorizes $50 million for a new grant program for police departments with fewer than 200 officers. The funding would be administered by the COPS office at DOJ and could be used for a variety of purposes, including investment in de-escalation training, officer training, and domestic violence response. I will always support those who sacrifice to keep us safe and work to provide them with the resources they need to protect our neighborhoods.

Animal Welfare Leader

On September 20, 2022, I was named a Humane Society Legislative Fund 2021 Legislative Leader. This distinction is given to Members of Congress who take proactive legislative initiative on animal welfare issues. Protecting animals and taxpayers from funding unnecessary testing is a win-win. I’m proud of my work safeguarding the welfare of animals.

Riverside County Transportation Solutions

This week, I met with Riverside County Transportation Commission (RCTC) Board Members Supervisor Karen Spiegel and Indio Mayor Waymond Fermon to discuss the Coachella Valley Rail project which will provide daily intercity passenger rail service between Los Angeles and the Coachella Valley. I am happy to support this project and will work with my colleagues in the Inland Empire Delegation to advocate for it.
