Friends, I believe as leaders we must unite under the guiding principles of our nation. 

Individuals who hold public office, regardless of party or position, are given a public trust and should not succumb to using hateful rhetoric and language to divide our nation. Instead, our leaders must use their voices to support policies that unite our communities through civility, dignity, and respect.

Join me: Sign on today if you believe everyone should be treated with dignity and respect and feel safe in their person, and Washington should focus on economic opportunities for EVERYONE and strive for a fair, tolerant and just society for ALL.

This current rancor and rhetoric puts our country in danger of eliminating the great strides we have made in progress for women’s equality, civil rights, the labor movement, and access to health care and a quality education.
