Dear John,
This week, Representative Pete Stauber introduced a bill in the U.S. Congress aimed at gutting environmental reviews of mining projects. This bill is another favor to Chilean mining giant Antofagasta as they try to resurrect their toxic sulfide-ore copper mine proposed on the edge of the Boundary Waters. This bill is an apparent attempt to work against the people's will and shows that Rep. Stauber and Antofagasta will stop at nothing to ruin the Boundary Waters with their toxic mine.
The Biden administration's actions to protect the Boundary Waters were well-considered, consistent with legal precedent and established public policy, and reflect the will of Minnesotans and the American people. But Antofagasta can pour millions of dollars into sacrificing the Boundary Waters for profit. But, with your support, we can fight back. Now is the time to go all in for the Boundary Waters, and this weekend is an especially good time to make a gift because we have a rare triple match opportunity right now in celebration of National Public Lands Day. |
Rush a TRIPLED gift today in honor of Public Lands Day to fund our expert legal, scientific, and policy work that MUST prevail in order to protect this precious Wilderness truly.
