Think: cocoa & coffee, unique gifts, wreaths, holiday music & more. For now, we are seeking VENDORS (retailers, artisans, etc.) to participate! 50th Anniversary of the Clean Water Act
We invite you to stroll along Auburn's riverfront to view our September "Storywalk." The subject is the 50th anniversary of the Clean Water Act, a particularly meaningful topic for our community as our beautiful Androscoggin River was once considered one of the most polluted rivers in the country. If you can't get out to visit the Riverwalk in person, you can view the Storywalk panels online at: https://arcg.is/114ivn
There will also be a Celebration of Maine's Clean Water Champions and our success in transforming our rivers, lakes, and beaches on Thursday, September 29 at 2:00PM at Simard-Payne Park in Lewiston. The event will include remarks from leaders in water quality protection, recognition of Maine’s Clean Water Champions, and a celebration with food and drinks. This event is co-hosted by the Maine Department of Environmental Protection, the Bath-Brunswick Regional Chamber, the Associated General Contractors of Maine, the Lewiston Auburn Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce, and the Maine Water Environment Association. We are seeking the PERFECT Christmas tree!
We KNOW it's only September, however...the City of Auburn & Auburn Public Works are seeking the PERFECT Christmas tree to grace Festival Plaza this holiday season! The ideal tree will be located in Auburn; an evergreen - spruce or fir; at least 25 feet tall; and relatively “accessible” (no close power lines or other obstructions). The “winning” tree will be removed and transported at no cost to the property owner, decorated by our amazing PW team, and illuminated on Saturday, December 3 as part of the city’s annual holiday parade. Want to see if your tree can “make the cut?” Submit your perfect tree for consideration. The nomination deadline is Friday, October 28, 2022. https://arcg.is/WKj5X1
