‘That Smirk Upsets Me’

John,

In one of the final weeks of the 2022 congressional session, we sadly were
subjected to the very worst in politics. The very same 219 Washington Democrats
who two years ago voted to defund our police and cripple local law enforcement
in communities across the country, voted on a series of law enforcement bills
simply for political cover. (Watch Forbes coverage here
<[link removed]>.) They know the bills aren’t
going anywhere, but – recognizing Americans stand with police – Congressional
Democrats chose to play games with our men and women who serve.

As a 23-year police officer, I was outraged
<[link removed]> at the use of my brothers and
sisters in blue as political pawns. Make no mistake: Washington Democrats are
the reason police recruitment is at an all-time low and crime is at an all-time
high.

Friends, you know me. You will always know where I stand. And when it comes to
crime and public safety, I stand with our police, sheriffs, and emergency
responders. We must do all we can to keep our communities safe and make sure
criminals are where they belong – behind bars.

My Mining Bill Cuts Through Obstruction and Frivolous Lawsuits

Washington’s obstruction and roadblocks to mining projects in Minnesota, the
Midwest, and throughout our country are creating tremendous uncertainty and
unnecessary economic stress for mining communities and working families. In
order to create more economic certainty, I am championing legislation that
would eliminate frivolous lawsuits and require federal agencies to better
coordinate. My “Permitting for Mining Needs Act”:

* Sets time limits on federal environmental reviews;
* Limits frivolous last second litigation;
* Authorizes memoranda of understanding (MOU's) between project sponsors,
states, and tribes at early stages; and
* Designates a lead agency to coordinate reviews to maximize efficiency.

Europe Provides Crystal Ball for Green New Deal

If you want to see what the result of Joe Biden’s war on American energy
policy could look like, you don't have to go much further thanEurope’s green
energy debacle
<[link removed]>
. As a result of the European Union’s radical green policies and over-reliance
on Russian energy, households and small businesses are seeing firsthand the
consequences of Green New Deal-style policies – energy is scarce and expensive.
Joe Biden’s war on energy must end. I look forward to helping champion our
“Commitment to America” that includes policy to increase America's energy
independence! Read more on Europe’s energy fail here
