Congress + Golf = A Waste of Time 😤

This week, Greg Norman, the chairman and CEO of LIV Golf, met with the Republican Study Committee to try his darndest to push his new golf league backed by the Saudi government.

Let me catch you up in case you don't follow golf: LIV Golf started this year as a PGA Tour competitor. While I'm a huge proponent of competition, I am not a proponent of dark money that weakens America's economy. And that's exactly what LIV Golf's business model strives off of since it’s backed by a bunch of Saudis and foreign billionaire oil people who couldn't give two hoots about America. 

That's where Norman lost me in his propaganda.

In all seriousness, government shouldn't be wasting its time on the question of where a bunch of rich dudes play golf. Remember when the federal government made the big mistake of getting involved in Major League Baseball? It's time we get our priorities straight and focus on the real issues that impact hardworking Americans. 

UT Paying Respects 🇺🇸

The University of Tennessee unveiled the Army ROTC Alumni Council’s dedicated memorial to fallen student and staff soldiers this week.

The names of 365 service members who died while serving in the military and who previously attended UT are etched in the memorial. Located in the heart of campus, I hope this memorial serves as a daily reminder to students and staff of the ultimate sacrifice paid by fellow members of the UT community.
