It's like a pep rally, but with opportunities to learn, network, make an impact, and be a part of something.

The Girls For A Change (GFAC) Black Girl Rally promotes excitement and engagement in the community by bringing together community members, leaders, dynamic speakers, and our youth. This signature event is a GFAC tradition that teaches Black girls and their supporters how they can create change in their neighborhoods, cities, and schools.

Creativity, the Secret Sauce in STEAM

This year's Black Girl Rally theme is centered on closing the STEAM Gap to bring more resources and pathways to entering STEAM fields to Black girls.

The morning Chew & Chat is for educators, parents, caregivers, youth centered programs, and champions for Black girls to dialogue about challenges and create actionable solutions in the community that will help engage more Black girls in STEAM. In the evening, we'll bring Black girls together to engage in STEAM related exercises and have some fun with special guest Lindsey Blackwell!

Nobody will leave empty-handed. Everybody will receive a GFAC bag, promotional materials from Netflix and local businesses, and have an opportunity to win amazing door prizes. In fact, one winner will leave with MacBook Air!

Part 1: Closing the Gap Chew & Chat (7:30am - 11:30am)

This session is for educators, parents, caregivers, youth centered programs, and champions for Black girls

What makes STEAM programs successful? Creativity and the mentors who encourage girls to reach for the stars! As champions of Black girls, we all we got. Let's collectively come together to solve the STEAM gap and come up with actionable solutions that we can implement right now. We will hear from a collective of people who occupy a variety of spaces in STEAM and go on a fun STEAM WALK to grab materials, network, and take back resources and connections to your school or community. We also have door prizes to give away!

Part 2: Tutu's & Tennis Shoes (3pm-9pm)

Black Girl Rally for middle and high school aged girls

Increase your chances of winning a MacBook Air by wearing a tutu and your favorite tennis shoes! We’ll kick the rally off with fun STEAM stations where girls can create whatever their hearts desire. We will have cool science experiments, tie dye stations, Fashion IT, and a fun stencil station brought to you by Studio Two Three!
