Mark your calendars and get the popcorn ready… because Elissa’s first debate with her opponent airs this Sunday at 10am on Flashpoint (that's Channel 4 in Detroit).

This is the first of two televised debates Elissa challenged her opponent to in August, immediately following the primary. The second one will be on October 6th on Channel 6 (WLNS in Lansing).

They’re going to have quite a bit to discuss. As a refresher, Elissa’s opponent voted *five times* against a bipartisan deal in the state legislature that has created thousands of jobs in mid-Michigan. He’s also not only publicly bragged about his extreme “100%" anti-abortion position on the personal freedom of Michigan women, but then tried to hide his unpopular opinion by entirely scrubbing it from his website (only to republish it with an added attack on Elissa after being called out). 

Ultimately, this first debate offers a chance to lay out the clear contrast between Elissa and her opponent to the voters of the new 7th district. We’ll be sure to follow up with a link and a breakdown of the debate, but in the meantime, here’s our ask: with Elissa’s first debate airing on September 25th and our “end-of-quarter” deadline coming up on September 30th, will you chip in to help us highlight that contrast between now and November 8th in the most expensive House race in the country?
