This week, Governor Walz announced that the Minnesota State Patrol and the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension will continue their ongoing, increased public safety presence to address crime and gun violence in the metro area at least through the end of the year.

Governor Walz joined governors in Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, and Ohio to announce the launch of the Midwest Hydrogen Coalition. The coalition will accelerate the development of clean hydrogen?to expand the clean energy economy and reduce climate impacts on future generations across Minnesota and the U.S.
Governor Walz and Lieutenant Governor Peggy Flanagan attended the dedication of the Minnesota Medal of Honor Memorial?? a tribute to the heroes who went above and beyond the call of duty to protect our freedoms.?
This week, Governor Walz and Letuienant Governor Flanagan highlighted the news that child poverty has fallen to a historic low in Minnesota.?
"Child poverty is at a record low in Minnesota. We?ll continue investing in the policies we know work ? including affordable health care and free school meals ? to build a brighter future for Minnesota children and families," said Lieutenant Governor Flanagan.?
Governor Walz has directed all United States and Minnesota flags to be flown at half-staff from sunrise until sunset on Sunday, September 25, to honor firefighters who have been killed or injured in the line of duty.?

Governor Walz, Lieutenant Governor Flanagan, and the Women?s Foundation of Minnesota invited young women and gender-expansive youth from across the state to apply for open positions with the Young Women?s Cabinet.?Applications are available through the Office of the Governor and Lieutenant Governor?s website and will be accepted through Tuesday, October 4.
