Minority Enterprise Development Week: September 18-24

The 2019 Annual Business Survey counted 1,077,319 minority firms with 9,348,384 employees and $344.5 billion in annual payroll.

Unmarried and Single Americans Week: September 18-24. In 2021, about 46.4% of Americans aged 18 and over, or 117.6 million, were unmarried according to the Current Population Survey.

National Hunting and Fishing Day: September 24. The 2016 National Survey of Fishing, Hunting, and Wildlife-Associated Recreation found 35.8M anglers, 11.5M hunters, and 86.0M wildlife watchers spent $156.9B.

Gold Star Mother?s and Family?s Day: September 25. In 1936, the Congress designated the last Sunday in September as "Gold Star Mother's Day" for those who lost a son or daughter in active military service.

Ancestor Appreciation Day: September 27. From the 2021 American Community Survey, the top reported ancestries in the U.S. are German 42.2M, English 31.8M, Irish 31.5M, American 17.7M and Italian 15.9M.

National Hispanic Heritage Month: Sept. 15-Oct. 15. The 2019 American Community Survey estimated the U.S. population at 328,239,523. This includes 60,481,746 (about 18.4%) who identified as Hispanic or Latino.
