Friends,

In the past week, Hurricane Fiona made landfall in the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico, leaving in its wake life-threatening flooding and millions without power.

Although we are grateful that the Virgin Islands were spared, I feel deeply the pain our Caribbean neighbors are going through at this time.

Five years ago, Hurricanes Irma and Maria ripped through the Virgin Islands, and as of now, we are still in the rebuilding phase.

My heart goes out to the people of the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico as they begin to rebuild after another catastrophic event.

At this time, we will continue to stand with our Caribbean brothers and sisters as they embark on their path to recovery.

We are strong and resilient people, and we will get through this together.

Rep. Stacey Plaskett
