Global Feminist Movements Fueled by Trust

Dear Colleagues,

As feminists we understand that relationships built on trust and mutual respect move faster, are smarter, and are strong enough to break barriers to change.

That’s why it was important for us to connect your efforts to leaders from around the globe at the Gates Foundation 2022 Goalkeeper Event [[link removed]] and the Clinton Global Initiative this past week. WFN was also honored to be one of 10 teams selected as Goalkeeper Accelerators. Accelerators are a key part of the Gates Goalkeepers, bringing together experts, innovators and investors to drive further progress towards the Sustainable Development Global Goals.

In these spaces, WFN contributes to the lush ecosystem of impatient optimists who are passionate about collaboration and eager to learn and grow together.

That’s a good thing because our movement is still lacking, as you can see in the UN’s 2022 Gender Snapshot [[link removed]], the funding and even simple tools, like high-quality global data, that could speed up progress. We can, and must do better.

It's a privilege to earn your trust and work alongside your fearless leadership in this fight. Thank you for all you do.

Onward,

Elizabeth

Invitation: BATTLEGROUND - Exclusive Cultivation Screening

We are happy to share that on Wednesday September 28th at 1:00pm PST (4:00pm EST), the impact team behind the feature documentary BATTLEGROUND [[link removed]] will be running an exclusive preview screening and discussion for foundations and individual donors funding abortion advocacy and reproductive justice.

BATTLEGROUND is an urgent window into the intersection of abortion and politics in America, following three women who lead formidable anti-abortion organizations. In the wake of the Supreme Court's decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, the film answers two pressing questions: how did we get here and what are pro-choice people up against?

Using the film as a tool, the 'Battleground' impact campaign seeks to motivate pro-choice audiences to action with the following goals:

-To underscore the critical importance of civic engagement and voting up and down the ballot

-To support the work of abortion-rights advocates on the ground

-To foster dialogue that breaks stigma and misinformation around abortion

With a pre-midterm impact theatrical release planned for October 2022 and further impact work lined up for 2023/2024, the team is now looking to connect with other issue-aligned funders and donors who might be interested in partnering on an expansion of our impact work.

If you are interested in watching this film and joining a discussion to learn more from the team please RSVP via this form [[link removed]].
