WOBURN -- Massachusetts Republican Party Chairman Jim Lyons on Friday expressed enthusiastic support for the new "Commitment to America" initiative launched by House Republicans in Congress and called it a "brilliant way for Republicans to hold Democrats accountable for the national nosedive that began after progressives gained control of the federal government."
"The Democrats' policies are failing Americans and one-party rule in Washington is to blame," Lyons said. "Here in Massachusetts, Republicans are working towards ensuring that one-party rule won't continue on Beacon Hill, because our commonwealth cannot afford it."
The Commitment to America, according to national Republican leaders, prioritizes issues that matter most to voters, such as the economy, public safety, electoral transparency, a solution to the border crisis, and parental involvement in education.
Lyons said that platform especially applies to Massachusetts.
"We've got out-of-control illegal immigration paving the way for massive fentanyl trafficking, a winter ahead of us that is projected to annihilate family home heating budgets, a Legislature dominated by Democrats who want to defund the police, and a public school climate polluted by leftist indoctrination," Lyons said. "These issues absolutely matter to Massachusetts voters, and it's on us to show them that Republicans are prepared to confront these problems head-on."
