We hope you had a great week and enjoyed the last few official days of summer! Congressman Kim had a busy weekend in Jersey before heading to Washington for a week of votes. On Thursday, the Congressman was proud to pass four important bills that would make sure law enforcement have the resources they need to keep us safe and adequately respond to all kinds of emergencies.

Congressman Kim Votes to Pass Legislative Package Prioritizing Local Police and Public Safety
On Thursday, Congressman Kim voted to pass four bills to improve public safety, fund local police departments, investigate unsolved crimes, and invest in better training and accountability to make our communities safer.

At Rowan College at Burlington County, Congressman Kim Helps Kickoff the 2022 Congressional App Challenge
Last weekend, Congressman Kim helped kickoff the 2022 Congressional App Challenge. Students and their families joined us at Rowan College at Burlington County to hear more about requirements and deadlines, meet fellow computer science enthusiasts, and how to get involved in this year's competition. Please join Congressman Kim tomorrow and help kickoff the 2022 Congressional App Challenge! Interested middle and high school students and their families can join us on September 17th at Rowan College at Burlington County to hear more about requirements and deadlines, meet fellow computer science enthusiasts, and get involved in this year's competition. Congressman Kim Meets with the Military Impacted Schools Association (MISA) to Discuss the Impact Aid Program and Other Assistance
On Tuesday, Congressman Kim met with local representatives of the Military Impacted Schools Association (MISA). There are four military impacted school districts in the district. Superintendents of these school districts spoke with Congressman Kim about Impact Aid and how to best help military connected students.
Congressman Kim is a cosponsor of a bill that aims to fully fund federal Impact Aid and related programs.
Congressman Kim Speaks at National Head Start Association Rally on Early Childcare & Education
On Wednesday, Congressman Kim joined the National Head Start Association to share his support for the Head Start program. The Congressman is committed to helping Head Start programs reach even more families and support children across Jersey.

The Office of Congressman Kim Hosts Webinar for Families of Adults Living with ID/DD in a Facility
On Wednesday, our office hosted a webinar to answer questions and share resources for families of adults with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities living in a facility. You can watch the full conversation here.
Congressman Kim Honors National Recovery Month
September is National Recovery Month and this week, Congressman Kim recognized Americans in recovery and recommitted to expanding access to addiction treatment and mental health resources.
In June, Congressman Kim helped pass the MAT Act to help those living with a substance use disorder get the treatment they need and his Synthetic Opioid Danger Awareness Act to raise public awareness of the dangers of synthetic opioids and explain the services available with respect to opioid treatment.
