The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation proposes amendments to an existing rule at 16 Texas Administrative Code (TAC), Chapter 59, ?59.3, regarding Continuing Education Requirements. The proposed rule is necessary to implement House Bill (HB) 1560, 87th Legislature, Regular Session (2021). The proposed rule updates the list of professions that are subject to Chapter 59 by removing booting operators and polygraph examiners, which have been deregulated, and adding barbers, which were consolidated with cosmetologists into one program by HB 1560.
The proposed rule was published in the September 23, 2022, issue of the "Texas Register" (47 TexReg 6029). The Department will accept comments on the proposal until *October 24, 2022*.
