IOWA NATIVE ALEXIS TAYLOR NOMINATED FOR USDA UNDER SECRETARY FOR TRADE

In April, I sent a letter to President Biden urging him to nominate a qualified individual to serve as USDA Under Secretary for Trade.

While this process took far too long, I’m pleased Iowa native Alexis Taylor is well on her way to be confirmed by the Senate to serve Iowa farmers.

MY MEETING WITH THE FARM JOURNAL FOUNDATION

On Tuesday, I sat down with Larry Sailer from the Farm Journal Foundation to talk about global food security and the upcoming Farm Bill.

I had an excellent conversation with the Association of Equipment Manufacturers to discuss American manufacturing competitiveness, precision agriculture advancements, and workforce matters.

Clay County Fair officials released a report that showed increases were seen in involvement, spending, and attendance numbers.

The Clay County fair attendance saw a 17.4% increase with a total of 325,585 attendees. Spending on food and carnival rides hit an all-time high of $2,833,943.
