WHAT: 350 Fairfax Virtual General Meeting, Moving Towards a More Sustainable Lifestysle. RSVP HERE by 5:30 PM on October 6.
DESCRIPTION: Sara Goddard, currently the publisher of Green That Life and a former elected member of the City Council in Rye, NY will talk about moving towards a more sustainable lifestyle by reducing our waste and plastic consumption.
For over 15 years, Sara has facilitated and led community engagement and advocacy initiatives for local and regional groups and organizations. She spearheaded a community-focused plastic pollution campaign that produced the City’s plastic bag law—one of the first in the nation at the time and one that has since served as a municipal model. She is passionate about political advocacy and will discuss that as well. It will be an information packed meeting.
We will also discuss our 30 day plastic free and reducing waste challenge and answer any questions you may have.
ACTION ITEM: Do a plastic and waste audit in your home and then make a plan to reduce your plastic waste and/or food waste if you have not already done so. Tell friends about the 30 day challenge and see if you can recruit them to join you.
Be sure to look for our upcoming blogs in October for helpful hints, information and sharing of ideas about plastic pollution, food waste and what we can do.
