Hi John.
Today, I wanted to share an update on how we can keep moving forward together to build a better future.
I know good ideas can come from Republicans and Democrats, whether that’s rebuilding our infrastructure or cutting wasteful spending. My job is to serve everyone, regardless of party.
That’s why I stood up to my own party to stop congressional pay raises and insider stock trading in Congress. By fighting corruption and extremism across the political spectrum, I know it’s possible to deliver results for hardworking Kansans. My focus is on concrete and bipartisan solutions that can make a difference.
So today, I’m pleased to share a special report on some crucial new laws we’ve just passed to tackle inflation and create good-paying jobs.
The Bipartisan CHIPS and Science Act
I was honored to work as a negotiator with Republicans and Democrats to help pass the bipartisan CHIPS and Science Act into law.
This is a major new economic law that invests in U.S. manufacturing and innovation. It’s all about making more products and jobs here at home – not China. That means securing American supply chains and lowering prices.

I’ve made it a priority to support Kansas manufacturing. For instance, I was glad to help secure federal support for the Kansas City Kansas Community College’s Automation Engineering Technology Program. This is a model program that supports workforce training in manufacturing and engineering studies so we can make more products in America.
The new law helps support the advanced U.S. manufacturing of computer chips. These chips are used in everything from cars to kitchen appliances. Unfortunately, right now, too many chips are manufactured overseas – creating shortages and higher costs.
But with this new bipartisan law, we now have tools to make our supply chains more resilient. It also includes support for small- and medium-sized manufacturers – not just large corporations – which I’ve long pushed hard for.
A Historic and Bipartisan Infrastructure Law
As the Vice Chair of the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, I also worked with Republicans and Democrats to pass a bipartisan infrastructure law.
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce says it’s fiscally responsible. And now, we’re seeing the results. That includes modernizing U.S. 69 in Overland Park and replacing lead pipes in Olathe.

I was honored to work with people in both parties to pass the bipartisan infrastructure law.
The bipartisan infrastructure law is making a difference for Kansas. It means rebuilding roads, bridges, railways, and more throughout our region.
It’s also means investing in our ports to secure U.S. supply chains and lower costs.
Standing Up to Big Pharma
I also voted for a new law to lower your health care and energy costs.
It finally lets Medicare negotiate for lower prescription drug prices. It also caps the cost of insulin for seniors on Medicare at $35 a month.
This is a huge win for hardworking Kansans – lowering costs for people in the middle- and working-class.
You should never have to pay more than three times what people in other nations pay for their medicines while drug companies make huge profits.
It also helps lower utility bills and prices at the pump by investing in American energy and clean energy production.
That means fixes to lower gas prices in the short term and reducing our reliance on foreign countries. And it means clean energy jobs and tackling climate change in the long term.
Non-partisan experts say it’s fully paid for by closing tax loopholes on big billionaire corporations – and lowers our national debt.1
This is what we can do when we work together on the issues that matter and aren’t distracted by partisanship.
It’s clear that our country is at an inflection point. We can choose the path of concrete and bipartisan solutions to lower prices and create good-paying jobs. Or the path of extremism and empty promises. I know hardworking Kansans can move forward together, regardless of party.
