I knew when we launched this campaign that we would be facing the full force of the national Republican Party. That’s the price of taking on the extreme and corrupt interests that have rigged Washington and our democracy in their favor.

But as prepared as we are, it's still a tough fight.

Being the first challenger the NRSC attacked and facing down tens of millions of dollars worth of attack ads? It has not been easy.

But what has struck me most is my opponent’s continued embrace of conspiracy theories and the far-right.

Just look at what is happening in North Carolina tonight and this weekend. Donald Trump, Marjorie Taylor Greene and Lauren Boebert are campaigning all across our state to help turn out their base for Ted Budd, who stood with them in their attempts to overthrow the 2020 election and said January 6 insurrectionists were “patriots.”

And that means I have to prepare for all of them to attack me, this campaign and our shared values. It is frankly a frightening sign of the direction of our politics and democracy could go if we do not all get involved.

But in my life, I’ve seen time and time again that our success often comes down to preparation and hard work. So with conspiracy theorists and extreme politicians flooding our state this weekend and our FEC deadline exactly one week away, it’s important that we prepare for absolutely anything that our opponents can throw our way.

Will you please donate to our campaign to make sure the far-right and their super PACs cannot drown out our voices? We cannot flip this seat if we allow their lies and attacks to go unanswered.

Ted Budd has shown us just who he is with his rhetoric, his voting record and the company he keeps. This is the kind of U.S. Senator he would be, and I know the people of North Carolina deserve better.
