Friend,
Thanks to the just-passed Inflation Reduction Act, we are going to build a lot of clean energy in America. But right now, our power grid isn't even equipped to get existing clean energy projects online.
I'm Charles Harper, and I'm the power sector policy lead here at Evergreen. It's my job to uncover the biggest opportunities and obstacles to decarbonizing the power sector, and this is a big one.
You see, clean energy projects (wind, solar, storage, and more) are waiting years to get connected to the grid. But we don't have that kind of time. And this isn't just slowing clean energy down—it's making it harder to avoid blackouts during extreme weather events like last year's deadly winter storm in Texas.
But there's good news: FERC is considering new rules that would speed up the queue and accelerate the just transition to a clean energy future. Sign an official public comment right now, and we'll deliver it to FERC decision-makers!

These interconnection queues are getting in the way of clean energy, greater flexibility, and the need for more infrastructure, and it's on us to push FERC to pass reforms quickly. Without action, we won't be able to build clean energy fast enough to hit our climate targets.
Thanks to advocates like you, we've pressured FERC to build more power lines and modernize the grid. Now we need to call on FERC to move on clean energy with the urgency that the climate crisis demands.
Sign an official public comment and let them FERC-in' know: It's time to speed up the clean energy transition now!
Together,
Charles Harper
