Since the Supreme Court ruled to overturn
Roe v. Wade, I have been hard at work pursuing every possible avenue to protect reproductive freedom both at home in Washington state and across the country. Here’s what I’ve spearheaded since then:
✓ Demanded for clarity from the Department of Justice on potential federal actions to protect patients and providers – regardless of where a patient comes from.
✓ Introduced legislation to
protect healthcare privacy and keep personal data safe from being misused against a patient.
✓ Introduced legislation to
protect providers from prosecution for providing essential reproductive care to patients traveling from anti-choice states – which Republicans blocked.
✓ Introduced legislation to
protect access to contraception in the wake of conservative states’ attempts to ban or limit individuals’ access.
We know that there is still work to do, so I need to know that you’re with me in the fight ahead. Will you add your name right away to stand up for reproductive freedom?
More than a dozen states have passed abortion ban “trigger laws,” many of which have been enacted since the Supreme Court’s disastrous decision. GOP officials have only been emboldened to extend their attacks on life-saving health care, and even to prevent individuals from accessing contraception.
Pro-choice states like Washington are experiencing an influx of out-of-state patients, which is why I’m working to protect our health care delivery system and ensure providers can continue helping patients without fear of prosecution.
These are just a few pieces of the ongoing fight to restore and defend abortion and privacy rights. As we continue pushing forward against extremist attempts to roll back progress, I need to hear from our strongest supporters about the work we are doing.
Add your name right away and let me know you’re still with me in the fight for abortion rights.
Thanks for being a part of this movement.
Let’s keep fighting.
