I’m not one to bullshit around.
John,
My teenagers and corporate CEOs can agree: I’m not one to bullshit around.
So here’s the no BS version: We have our final end of quarter fundraising deadline a week from today. This is my toughest race yet and I could really use your help. Pitch in here.

Now, if you’re looking for a bit more explanation about why I’m asking for your money (as a former professor, I appreciate the tough questions) here’s the breakdown of why this race is so critical and why we could use your support before the end of the month.
- Republicans have already invested millions into ads attacking me—far more than they spent during my last election.
- Our district is one of the few swing districts left which will determine who controls the House majority.
- We’re running digital ads, TV ads, knocking doors, sending mail, and advertising on billboards and bus stops: all of this takes serious resources.
- I don’t take any money from corporate PACs or lobbyists, instead our campaign is fueled by an average donation of around $25.
After September 30, we publicly report how much money we’ve raised over the past three months. We need to send a strong signal to Republicans: This race isn’t worth their last minute attack ads.
Can you chip in $5, $10, or whatever you can afford today to help us show Republicans I’m not going anywhere?
Thanks for being on Team Porter!
Katie
Katie is running for re-election in California’s 47th district, which includes Irvine and coastal Orange County. This purple district contains an equal number of Democrats and Republicans and is a must-win for Democrats. Consider pitching in today so we have the resources to keep Katie in Congress fighting for working people.
