A Fall Dinner You Won't Want to Miss |
FILE: Chairman Kyle Hupfer speaks during the Team Holcomb Fall Dinner in 2019. |
One of my favorite parts of the role as chairman of the party is looking for dynamic, inspiring leaders to bring to our annual dinner events, and this year's special guest at our fall dinner is certainly no exception. U.S. Senator Tim Scott will be coming to the Hoosier state at such an exciting time. Less than a week before that pivotal day in November, Sen. Scott will deliver remarks that are sure to fire up attendees, reminding them of not just what is at stake, but how Republicans can help build a brighter future for all Americans. That has been Sen. Scott's goal since Day One — building a brighter future and creating opportunity — and through his Opportunity Agenda, he is doing just that.
He's a leader on tax reform (a champion of the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act who spearheaded the "opportunity zone" initiative that has brought millions in private investment to distressed communities), education and job training, and finding innovative solutions to reinvest in America.
Sen. Scott has an incredible story and you will not want to miss out on the opportunity to hear from him. So please, RSVP now, and we will see you in November!
Enjoy this week's newsletter and share it with a friend. Sincerely, |

Announcing a Midwest Regional Hydrogen Coalition |
|
|
Gov. Holcomb speaks during the announcement that the Indiana Farmers Coliseum will remain the home of the Horizon League Basketball Championships through 2026 (Sept. 20, 2022). |
On Monday, Gov. Holcomb joined his fellow governors in Illinois, Iowa, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio and Wisconsin to collaborate on developing a robust hydrogen market, supply chain and workforce across the Midwest by signing the Midwest Hydrogen Coalition Memorandum of Understanding (M-H2 Coalition MOU). “Strong partnerships and collaborations with our neighbors will foster a robust hydrogen ecosystem that will spur future growth in Indiana,” said Gov. Holcomb. “The Regional Hydrogen Coalition represents an opportunity for Hoosiers to benefit from this growing industry here in the Midwest."
The coalition will conduct its work by employing a coordinated multi-state, multi-sector approach to developing a robust and sustainable hydrogen economy across the Midwest, informed by industry, academic and community engagement. Indiana will utilize its advanced manufacturing, engineering and research and development expertise to help promote diverse hydrogen production pathways throughout the Midwest region. These innovations and opportunities will be crucial to safeguard the region's manufacturing economy in the long term.

House Republicans Release "Commitment to America" |
On Thursday, House Republicans released a bold agenda with four clear steps to hold Biden and Democrats accountable for two years of failure.
This agenda will achieve a Strong Economy, a Safe Nation, a Free America, and an Accountable Government. The House Republican Plan for a Strong Economy: -
Fight inflation and lower the cost of living;
- Reduce gas prices and make America energy independent;
- Fix our supply chain and end dependence on China.
The House Republican Plan for a Safe Nation: - Secure the southern border;
- Reduce crime and stop fentanyl;
- Defend our national security.
The House Republican Plan for a Free America: -
Ensure every American child has the tools to succeed;
- Empower longer, healthier lives;
- Confront big tech and advance free speech.
The House Republican Plan for an Accountable Government: -
Hold Joe Biden and his administration accountable;
- Preserve our constitutional freedoms;
- Ensure fair elections and restore the People’s voice.
In August, a record number of Americans said that our country was headed in the wrong direction. This plan is how we get America back on track. Hoosiers simply can't afford two more years of business as usual in Washington, D.C. And this November, we'll help send that message loud and clear. Read the House Republicans' Commitment to America plan here. |
This week, members of the first two classes of the Indiana Republican Diversity Leadership Series were in Washington, D.C., on a group trip.
Their first day included a tour of the Heritage Foundation and a discussion with its president, Kevin Roberts. Their second day was filled with stops on Capitol Hill with members of Indiana's Congressional delegation, including Sens. Todd Young and Mike Braun and Reps. Victoria Spartz and Greg Pence; they also toured the Capitol and attended a reception hosted by Ice Miller. Their last day was spent at the headquarters of the Republican National Committee (RNC) and concluded with a tour of the city.
