John,

Summer officially came to a close yesterday. And for many of us, it was a rough one, filled with sadness, frustration, and anger. In a post-Dobbs world, we grappled with the new reality of what it meant for abortion access to no longer be constitutionally protected.

Together, we rallied. We protested. We petitioned. We trained. We educated. We fought.

As we head into fall, it is imperative that we keep the pressure on. We have already seen the wide-reaching fall out from this horrific Supreme Court decision. Hospital workers are weighing whether to report miscarriages. Children have been denied access to abortion after experiencing sexual assault. Miscarrying people or those experiencing ectopic pregnancy have had care delayed as doctors debated whether they were “sick enough” to qualify for life-of-the-mother exceptions. Vital information about abortion has been removed or blocked from the internet while disinformation flourishes.

Abortion, a necessary healthcare procedure for so many people, is being used as a political football, subject to an ever-changing goalpost by duplicitous pro-life leaders.

We won’t stand for it. Now is the time to get loud and proud about abortion. Say the word without shame. Educate yourself about self-managed abortion with pills. Make sure your friends, family, neighbors know that you are a safe person to turn to.

Join the movement to not only protect, but expand access to abortion for everyone.

Sincerely,

Erin Matson
Executive Director, Reproaction
