Dan Rather has an urgent alert for the public: "I don’t think there is a
bigger story than the current threat to American democracy." Part of that
threat? "The truth is that electing governors and Secretaries of State who
wish to undermine free and fair elections could very well end democracy as
we know it."
CNN is previewing an interview with Liz Cheney airing tonight where she
spells it out: "There are people running so that they are in a position
where they will be able to certify the results only for Donald
Trump...That’s obviously fundamentally a threat to the survival of the
republic."
John, for over a year, thousands of PCCC members across the
country have been making donations to Democratic, pro-democracy Secretary
of State campaigns in battleground states to protect the offices that will
oversee the 2024 election.
[ [link removed] ]Can you make a donation to key Secretary of State campaigns in Arizona,
Colorado, Georgia, Michigan, Minnesota, and Nevada? These officials could
be our last line of defense against efforts to overthrow our democracy.
Pro-democracy candidates for Secretary of State are also alerting voters:
In Arizona, Adrian Fontes put it bluntly: "The stakes are literally the
fate of the free world."
In Colorado, Jena Griswold told The Guardian: "The country could lose the
right to vote in less than three months."
In Michigan, Jocelyn Benson says: "We’re up against a nationally
coordinated effort to dismantle and delegitimize democracy."
Dan Rather closes out his warning with this: "As long as I have my health
and my voice, I am going to use it to share what I see. If it means
writing about this threat over and over and over again, so be it."
Secretary of State races typically don't get tons of national scrutiny.
But in 2022, Democrats cannot afford to ignore the elections that will
determine who conducts and oversees the 2024 election.

Arizona, Colorado, Georgia, Michigan, Minnesota, and Nevada who stand
between democracy and authoritarian takeover -- and help support our work
to elect honest vote counters.
