Team,
Nevadans elected me to the Senate in 2018 to fight for the issues that matter to them, like defending access to affordable health care, standing up for our veterans, and investing in education and preparing our future workforce for the jobs of tomorrow’s economy.
Over the past year, that’s exactly what I’ve done. I have introduced or co-sponsored 300 pieces of legislation, the majority on a bipartisan basis, and nearly 60 of them have passed in the Senate, like my Building Blocks of STEM Act which is expected to be signed into law very soon.
I have also championed bills that would help close the digital divide for communities in Nevada and across the country, expand opportunities in STEM education for our students, and help veterans start businesses, access good-paying jobs, and get the most out of their benefits.
We have so many accomplishments to be proud of this year, but our fight is just getting started.
My philosophy is that we agree where we can and fight where we must. That’s why I have focused both on working across the aisle to get things done while fighting as hard as I can to stand up for the people I represent. I didn’t hesitate to lead the fight in the Senate to defend the Affordable Care Act from GOP attacks -- and I’m not backing down from that fight because millions of Nevadans and Americans are counting on us to protect their health care.
I also proudly worked to bring people together, launching the Comprehensive Care Caucus to focus the Senate on expanding access to palliative care, as well as the Senate Bipartisan Task Force for Combating Anti-Semitism.
I will keep fighting to make progress for our families, but I need you to stand with me.
Thank you,
Jacky
