Dear Friend,
I want to invite you to an upcoming webinar on Racial Impact Note Acts sponsored by Children's Advocates for Change and the American Sustainable Business Network. This event will occur on Wednesday, September 28th at 12:00 p.m. (Central Time).


In April of last year, Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker signed Illinois' Racial Impact Note Act into law. My staff and I worked hard on its passage. Only a handful of states have such a measure on their books, and Illinois has one of the nation's most comprehensive statutes.


Such laws are valuable tools in state efforts to combat racial and ethnic inequities. Under our Racial Impact Note Act, a legislator may request a state agency or board to prepare a note or statement on pending legislation that could negatively impact racial and ethnic minorities. Yet, the note also serves as a gauge of current conditions and can raise awareness of them.


Illinois State Representative Camille Y. Lilly, House sponsor of the measure, will be joining me to provide her perspective on Illinois' journey to passing a Racial Impact Note Act. I hope you can join us for the event. You can register for the event today at
