AZ-01 State of the Race Memo
As we near the end of September, we’re preparing for another crucial FEC quarterly fundraising deadline and getting ready for the general election.
Our Weakened Opponent
We’ll be facing Republican David Schweikert in the general election. He’s going into the general election weakened, having received less than a majority of the votes in his primary election – just 44% of the total amount.
Protecting the House Majority
AZ-01 is one of the most competitive seats in the country. With the fragile Democratic House majority at risk, flipping this seat could be the key to protecting our majority.
The District is Tied
A recent poll shows that the race is tied 47-47, and President Biden would have won this district by 1.5% in 2020. Arizonans are ready for a change, so this is the best opportunity we’ve ever had to flip this seat from red to blue.
