Hi Friend,

My name is Jaime. I'm the Georgia State Immigration Director at FWD.us and a current DACA recipient.

By now you probably know that DACA is currently facing the most severe threat of its ten year history. We’re still waiting on the Fifth Circuit of Appeals Court decision that will rule DACA to be legal or illegal to be handed down, but it could come any minute or any day.

If the court deems DACA illegal nearly 700,000 individuals, including me, face immediately losing the legal ability to work, drive, and continue our lives as we’ve known them. It would also mean growing fears that we could be deported or separated from our families someday without new protections in place.

I’m reaching out today to let you know we’re focusing on next steps already — and there’s only one path. Congress must pass permanent legislative protections for DACA recipients and Dreamers this year.
