Dear Friends,
On September 20, the Alameda County Board of Supervisors held their meeting to discuss and vote on Ordinance 5.08. The Board voted to ban Wild Cow Milking events in Alameda County!
Thank you to everyone who helped to make this possible for the brutalized and terrified cows!
Unfortunately, however, the use of spurs, bucking straps and non-release ropes at rodeos was not banned!
Read more about it below:

Alameda County bans wild cow milking events in rodeos
Terrified cow being forcibly milked during the "Wild Cow Milking" event at a rodeo in Alameda County, CA
Proposed comments can include:
* The article refers to rodeo as a sport. A sport is defined as an activity in which both participants are willing and of approximate skill level. In rodeo, the human contestants are willing and pay to be there. The animals are forced to be there (some are shocked with electric prods, viciously spurred and a forced to endure flank straps) and endanger their very lives.
* Animal cruelty and torture is not family entertainment!
* Due to the inherent cruelty and killing of rodeos, they are being banned across America including Pittsburgh, PA; Leeburg, VA; San Francisco, CA; Pasadena, CA; South Hampton, NY; Napa County, CA; and Fort Wayne, IN just to name a few locations.
* Civilized society is moving away from animal cruelty, especially as a source of "entertainment."
* While rodeos claim to love and respect their animals, SHARK has proven otherwise over the past 30 years, with over 1,000 videos on YouTube of animals being routinely abused and killed in rodeos nationwide and beyond.
Your donations go to our investigations, not exorbitant executive salaries or fundraising. Traveling is expensive, but it is necessary to help the animals.
