John – This week we announced our support for John Fetterman, and there’s been a whirlwind response! If you missed the original announcement, you can read it below.

With Fetterman joining the slate we now have two bold, progressive fighters on the ballot for the U.S. Senate in November. Charles Booker is challenging Rand Paul in Kentucky, and John Fetterman is facing off with a reality TV-star named Dr. Oz.

We have a tight timetable to make a difference in both of these races, but we CAN make an impact.

BNC is working on a strategy that will boost turnout to flip both of these Senate seats (more on that soon), but first we need your help.

Right now we’re projected to fall about $9,000 short of our September goal unless we have a major turnaround this week. Can you pitch in $25, $50, or more today to help us defeat Rand Paul and Dr. Oz and elect Charles Booker and John Fetterman?

If we miss the mark on this fundraising goal, we’ll have to scale back our plans. And with less than seven weeks to go until election day there’s no time to waste.

We rely on grassroots donors for everything we do, and anything you’re able to pitch in today would be a tremendous help.

Thank you,

The entire team at Brand New Congress

Subject: John Fetterman for U.S. Senate

This is one of our biggest announcements yet, John. Please join me in welcoming John Fetterman to the Brand New Congress slate!

Graphic featuring a photo of John Fetterman, candidate for U.S. Senate in Pennsylvania. John is pictured wearing a dark short-sleeved shirt with his hands held in front of him, looking forward. Pictured behind him is a faded image of the U.S. Capitol building. The caption reads: “Brand New Congress welcomes John Fetterman For Senate Pennsylvania”

John has been in public service his entire life. From volunteering with Big Brothers/Big Sisters, to AmeriCorps, his 13 years as mayor of Braddock and nearly four years as Lt. Governor of Pennsylvania – a role he transformed to fight for major reforms – John has always put his community first.

John is in a heated race against the Trump-endorsed, multi-millionaire reality-TV star (and New Jersey resident), Dr. Oz. We’ve got to pull out all the stops to help him win this seat. Will you welcome John to the slate by splitting a contribution between BNC and his fearless campaign today?

Elect John! >>

John was born in York, PA to teenage parents, who worked and scrapped to get ahead and give John and his brother more opportunities. At the age of 33, John moved to Braddock, PA to start a GED program. Three years later, his students convinced him to run for mayor. He won his first primary by a single vote.

John served as mayor of Braddock for 13 years, helping to rebuild the once-booming steel town and bring it back from the brink of collapse. His proudest achievement was working to reduce gun violence, which had been a serious problem in the town of less than 2,000. Working together with the community, they went 5 ½ years without a single gun death under John’s tenure as mayor.

As Lieutenant Governor, John has fiercely advocated for criminal justice reform, immigrant rights, LGBTQ+ rights, and racial justice. As a senator, he is committed to building on that work and fighting for universal healthcare, strong unions, bold climate action with a just transition for workers who will be impacted by ending our dependence on fossil fuels.

“I believe that climate change is an existential threat, and we need to transition to clean energy as quickly as possible. But we must do it in a way that preserves the union way of life for the thousands of workers currently employed or supported by the natural gas industry in Pennsylvania and the communities where they live.”

We need progressives like John in the Senate to fight for working families. Will you help us elect John in November by splitting a contribution between BNC and his groundbreaking campaign now?

John, the Pennsylvania Senate race is one of THE most important elections of this cycle. It’s the race MOST likely to flip (the outgoing incumbent is a Republican) and it may well be the seat that determines majority control of the Senate.

The opportunity to elect a fearless, progressive fighter like John to the Senate – especially from a swing state like Pennsylvania – is huge. None of us can sit this one out.

That’s why we are proud to join forces with the powerful, nationwide coalition John has built to help him win this seat.

Former BNC Senate candidate Malcolm Kenyatta, who competed in the Democratic primary for this seat, wasted no time getting to work to elect John. Malcolm has been touring the state holding events and fundraisers, relentlessly advocating for John to defeat the out-of-touch, reality TV star who is his opponent.

Here’s what Malcolm had to say about his support for John:

John is wearing a white hoodie and shorts with black sneakers, smiling and holding a thumbs up. Malcolm is wearing a light button-up shirt with dark jeans and white sneakers, smiling with his right hand on John’s shoulder.

We know John will lead the way for bold, transformational change in the U.S. Senate just as he has done at every stage of his life in public service.

Brand New Congress is excited to partner with John and add another bold, progressive voice to our Senate slate. Will you pitch in now and split a contribution between John’s campaign and BNC?

Welcome to Brand New Congress, John!

Since 2016 BNC has led the way in advancing popular policies like Medicare for All and the Green New Deal and electing bold progressive fighters. We recruited and elected AOC in 2018 and Cori Bush in 2020. With seven BNC Reps currently in office, we are growing progressive power in Congress.

This November we’re working to flip multiple red seats, fill open seats with bold progressives, and elect our first BNC Senator by defeating Rand Paul.

Pitch in today and join us as we take over Congress and return power to the people.
