Yesterday, DFA-endorsed candidate Letitia James filed a lawsuit against
Donald Trump for financial fraud.

For years, DFA members have been working to hold Trump accountable, and
now progress is finally being made because of our efforts to Establish
Justice and elect progressive champions who hold power accountable and
stand up for the rule of law.
This lawsuit clearly shows why elections matter, because by electing
Letitia James as Attorney General in 2018, Trump is finally facing
consequences for his actions.

Letitia James is the 67th Attorney General of New York and is running for
re-election in 2022. She is the first woman elected NY Attorney General
and the first woman of color to hold statewide elected office in New York.
Letitia James isn't just a barrier breaker at the state level, before
serving as attorney general, Letitia was the Public Advocate for the City
of New York – the first woman of color to hold citywide elected office. As
Public Advocate, she was the city watchdog ensuring that government
agencies were meeting the needs of New York City residents and serving as
the chief advocate for NYC’s most vulnerable.
So while Donald Trump may think that the law doesn’t apply to him or his
family, Letitia James will fight every step of the way to ensure that it
does.
